Howell, a senior from Coconut Grove, Fla., rushed for a career-high 175 yards on just 13 carries in the Owls’ 45-0 win over Bethune-Cookman on Saturday. He also scored his 18th career touchdown in the game and set the school’s all-time game record for yards per carry despite not playing at all in the fourth quarter. His efforts and leadership helped the Owls to their first win of the 2017 campaign.
Porter capped off women’s soccer 11-day road trip with a game-winning goal against Southern Utah on Sunday, coming with just 14 seconds remaining in regulation. Porter scored twice in the 3-2 victory, and the freshman forward now has three goals on the season.
Football will wrap up its nonconference schedule with a trip to Buffalo to play the Bulls on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN3. Women’s soccer returns home for the first time since Aug. 27 to continue Conference USA play against Old Dominion on Friday, Sept. 22. First kick will be at 7 p.m. from FAU Soccer Stadium.
