This is the latest recognition for Nash, a junior forward from Desoto, Texas. She was voted one of the top 20 players in the SBC by topsoccerdrawer.com after ranking among the league leaders with five assists in 2011. Nash is FAU's top returning goal scoring and point scorer from last season.
"People see the potential and what she is capable of doing. We are expecting a breakout season out of Brittney this season," said Brian Dooley, FAU's head women's soccer coach. "She is a player that can use power and can skillfully beat the defender."
Scott, a sophomore defender from Fort Lauderdale, started all 18 matches as a freshman and helped the Owls post three shutouts. She tallied six shots against opposing teams last season.
"Amunique is a defender with the ability to jump forward and help the offensive attack," said Dooley. "As the season goes on she will only get better."
The Owls stand 0-1 on the season after dropping a hard-fought 1-0 decision to Jacksonville University in the season opener on August 17.
FAU's season will resume Friday, August 24, against Illinois State University in the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament in Fort Myers. The team will also play the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Sunday, August 26, in the tournament.
