Women's Soccer Announces 2014 Fall Schedule

BOCA RATON, Fla. (June 23, 2014) - The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team has announced its 2014 schedule, which features six first-time opponents and nine home matches at the FAU Soccer Stadium, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.

FAU Head Coach Patrick Baker in his second season will lead his team into its first match of the fall on Friday, Aug. 22 at USF in Tampa.

The Owls' home opener will take place on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 1 p.m. against Stetson University. From there, FAU takes to a five-game road trip, beginning with a two-match journey to California to take on Pepperdine University in Malibu and Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. September opens with three road matches in the Sunshine State as the Owls face UCF, Miami and Jacksonville on the road.

The Owls host six consecutive home matches from Saturday, Sept. 14 to Friday, Oct. 3. After non-conference matchups against Brown University, CSU Bakersfield and Wofford College, FAU opens Conference USA-play with weekend matches against Charlotte on Friday, Sept. 26 and Old Dominion on Sunday, Sept. 28. The home stand wraps up with a battle against C-USA rival FIU on Friday, Oct. 3.

FAU's first C-USA trip is slated for Friday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 12 at Middle Tennessee State and UAB before another home weekend against North Texas and Rice.

The Owls wrap up the regular season on the road with matches at UTEP, UTSA and Louisiana Tech.

FAU has never faced Brown, Louisiana Tech, Pepperdine, Rice, CSUB or Wofford in program history. The Owls have recorded a combined 48 wins against their other 14 opponents.

The 2014 Conference USA Championship Tournament will be held in Charlotte, N.C., beginning on Monday, Nov. 3.
