BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer coach Patrick Baker and his staff will be hosting an FAU Soccer ID camp on Feb. 9. The camp will coincide with the US Women's National team hosting Russia at FAU Stadium on Feb. 8.
On Saturday, the US plays Russia at 3:30 p.m. followed by FAU's ID Positional Clinic on Sunday. The camp is open to players 14-18 years of age.
"For Florida Atlantic University to host an International Friendly is a great honor and we appreciate US Soccer for affording us this opportunity," Baker said. "We know the South Florida soccer community and the state of Florida overall will come out to support this remarkable group of young women."
Fans interested in attending the game can find more information by visiting ussoccer.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, at all Ticketmaster outlets throughout South Florida, including Walmart, as well as at the FAU Wally Sanger Athletic Ticket Office at FAU's Boca Raton campus. The Wally Sanger Athletic Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tickets also will be sold the day of the event at FAU Stadium.
The ID Camp is geared toward players who are looking to elevate their game to the next level. Particular emphasis will be given to providing participants with elite training sessions that are specific to each player's position including goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.
"The ID Positional Clinic will be a great opportunity for young players to train and play on campus with the FAU women's soccer staff," Baker said. "We have a great commitment here for player development and believe the structure of the day will allow players to be exposed to some new levels of training ideas."
The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 9th. For more information, or to register, visit FAUSoccerAcademy.com.
"It has the makings of being a great weekend of soccer at Florida Atlantic University," Baker said.
