BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University clinched a fifth-place finish in the 11-team Sun Belt Conference standings after playing geographical and conference rival Florida International University to a 0-0 draw Halloween night in Boca Raton.

Florida Atlantic has not lost to FIU since 2000. Friday night's match marked the end of the regular season for both clubs.

The Owls of FAU (6-9-2; 5-4-2 Sun Belt) will be the fifth seed in next week's Sun Belt Conference postseason tournament, held in Denton, Texas. First round games begin Wednesday, November 5 where the Owls will face the league's No. 4 seed.

FIU (4-11-3; 4-4-3 Sun Belt) - like their counterparts from Boca - began the year slowly, but rallied to even up its league record by season's end. The Golden Panthers will be tested the tournament's first round, drawing one of the league's top-three seeds.

Senior goalie Jessica Badders of FAU and freshman keeper Melanie Raimo of FIU both had a series of timely saves to keep the match scoreless.

The trio of Ashley Mannarino, Jannica Tjeder and Natalie D'Oria combined for 16 of Florida Atlantic's 19 shots. The Golden Panthers of FIU managed just eight shots, but put five on goal.
