BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WKU scored just unde

r nine minutes in and held off the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team on Friday night, 1-0 at the WKU Soccer Complex.

Turning Point:

The Lady Toppers (4-8-1, 1-4-1 Conference USA) drew the first - and what would turn out to be only - blood of the match in the early going. Tally Bishop found the back of the net just 8:46 into the contest for a lead the home team wouldn't relinquish.   

The Finish:

The Owls (7-7-2, 2-4-1 C-USA) could not equalize on their nine shot attempts on the night. Just one was on target, saved by WKU's goalkeeper, Allison Leone, in the 19th minute.

"We created enough in and around the box, but probably nothing that really tested the keeper," said Head Coach Patrick Baker. "We were getting into good spots, but just none of that materialized, just really disappointed. I thought coming on this big weekend, we'd have a better start."

What's Next:

The Owls travel further north, to Huntington, West Virginia, to take on Marshall on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
