Denise Brolly leads the team with 10 goals on the year

Florida Atlantic University's women's soccer team battled Atlantic Sun Conference foe, Georgia State University to a 1-1 tie on Friday night in Atlanta, GA. With the tie FAU's record moves to 6-3-3 (3-2-1 A-Sun), while the Lady Panthers remain a perfect 13-0 at home and hold a record of 4-2-6 (1-0-3 A-Sun).

Denise Brolly, who was named the soccerFLA.com Player-of-the-Week last week, scored her eighth goal in four games in the first half on a pass from Susanna Lehtinen. The shot came in the 33rd minute and FAU was not able to score in the remainder of the contest.

The Lady Panthers battled in the second half to tie the score at the 45:59 mark. Amber Collins-Cephers' shot went into the top of the net just out of the reach of FAU goalkeeper Megan Coyne. Coyne made seven saves in the contest.

FAU was not able to capitalize on several scoring opportunities as Janine Aylward had a free kick saved with under 30 second remaining in the first overtime period and Brolly had a shot go wide on a breakaway in the second overtime.

FAU closes out its conference road swing on Sunday as the Owls face Mercer at 1 pm in Macon, GA.
