Volunteer Assistant Coach


Heather joined the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team as a volunteer assistant coach in September of 2009. She brings a wealth a knowledge to the game after playing for the Fort Lauderdale Fusion/Miami Kickers FC of the Women's Premiere Soccer League in 2007 and 2008. Zurburg also played three seasons at Louisiana State University from 2003-05 and a stint with the W-League Windy City Blues in 2003.

Zurburg will help with the team's goalkeepers and has received a United States Soccer Federation National License along with a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Natinal Goalkeeping License.

Her prior coaching experience includes working with the Florida Youth Soccer Association and the Olympic Development Program State Staff as a Goalkeepers Coach/Assistant Coach. She would evaluate and train goalkeepers and field players for Boys and Girls Club.

Zurburg served as assistant coach for the girls varsity soccer team from 2007-09 at American Heritage High School where she training the goalkeepers, designing fitness and organizing training sessions.

In the summer of 2007 she worked developmental camps for young players at the MLS Red Bull Developmental Soccer Camps. Zurburg currently still is involved in working the Joe Machnik camp.

Zurburg graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida where she received a Bachelors of Art degree in Criminology in 2007. She is currently getting her masters degree in Criminal Justice.
