Boca Raton, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team will compete in some of the state's top NCAA Division I tournaments during the 2010-11 season. The balanced schedule has four fall and four spring tournaments to prepare for the season-ending Sun Belt Conference Championships.

The Owls begin the season in the University of South Florida's Waterlefe Invitational in Bradenton on October 4-5 before heading to Daytona Beach for the LPGA International Xavier Invitational on October 8-10. FAU closes out the month with the Pat Bradley Invitational, hosted by FIU, on October 31-November 2 at the Pelican Preserve Golf Club in Fort Myers. The team wraps up the fall campaign at the Stetson Invitational on November 8-9 at the Victoria Hills Golf Club in DeLand.

The spring season starts at the El Diable Intercollegiate, hosted by Eastern Kentucky University, on March 10-12 in Citrus Springs. That is immediately followed by the North-South Collegiate meet on March 14-15 in Jacksonville. FAU rounds out month at the three-day University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational on March 25-27 at the Plantation Inn Golf Resort in Crystal River, Fla. The Owls will continue tuning up for the conference championships at the Hall of Fame Classic on April 4-5 in St. Augustine.

The Sun Belt Conference Championships are scheduled from April 18-20 in Muscle Shoals, Ala., on the prestigious The Shoals layout, designed by famed course architect Robert Trent Jones.

The Owls return four of five players from last year's squad that showed improvement throughout the season. Sophomore Marilyne Cadieux had the lowest scoring average (77.7 strokes per 18 holes) on the team, and had carded a team-best 71-stroke round in the University of Cincinnati Invitational. Senior Jennifer Norton tallied a 77.9-stroke scoring average and was the highest finisher in two events over the course of the 2009-10 season. Junior Anna Wiklund was the team's highest finisher in the Sun Belt Conference Championships with three consistent rounds in the 70s.
