BOCA RATON, Fla. –Florida Atlantic University’s Jacqueline Shelly was named to the Conference USA 2014 Women’s Golf All-Academic Team today after a vote by the league’s sports information directors.

Shelly recorded FAU’s top individual finish in every tournament that she competed in this season. The sophomore finished tied for 14th in her first tournament with FAU during the fall season, FGCU's 2013 Eagle Invitational. Shelly recorded her first individual win as an Owl at the Jacksonville Classic, carding rounds of 70 and 73 on the par 72 course. Her second individual victory of the season came at the Seminole State Spring Break Tournament, with a two-round total of 150 strokes. The Fernandina Beach, Fla., native tied for 12th at the 36th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational with a 217 and helped FAU to its highest team finish of the year, placing fourth at Stetson's Hatter Classic. Shelly boasts a 3.880 GPA while majoring in economics.

Women’s golf will travel to Gulf Shores, Ala. for Conference USA’s Women’s Golf Championship at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club starting on Monday, April 21.
