Miami, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's golf team finished tied for sixth at the Florida International/Pat Bradley Championship on Sunday afternoon in the team's final tournament of the fall season. The Lady Owls have finished in sixth place in all three fall tournaments. Natalia Navarro won in a playoff to win her second consecutive tournament on the 6,084-yard par 72 course.
Navarro, who won the Hatter Fall Classic two weeks ago, shot a final round 75 to win her fifth collegiate tournament. The senior from Columbia finished with a three-round eight-over par 224. Amanda Pettit improved five shots from the previous day to shoot her lowest round of the fall, a final round 78 to finish tied for 16th. Jessica Carafiello also improved five shots, shooting an 81 on the final day. Sandi MacDougall and Kendall Kirby fired their lowest rounds of the tournament, an 81 and 83 respectively.
Florida Atlantic shot its best team round of the tournament, 315, but finished 24 strokes behind the winner, host FIU (941). Princeton (944), Florida Southern (950), Longwood (954) and the University of Illinois (960) round out the top five. The Lady Owls were the only team representing the Atlantic Sun.
FAU will return to action in the spring, participating in the UCF Invitational on Monday, February 9.
