Stockbridge, GA - Florida Atlantic University's women's golf team improved 16-strokes from the previous day to shoot a final day 299 and finish sixth out of 11 teams at the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate at Eagles Landing Country Club. Jessica Carafiello shot her lowest round of the season en route to tying for fourth place while Anna-Claire Daniels recorded her first top-10 finish.
Carafiello improved seven-strokes to shoot one-under par on the 5,842-yard par 72 course. She tied for third on par five scoring after shooting three-under par on the par five holes. Carafiello's fourth place finish is the third top-four finish of her career.
Daniels, a freshman from Oak Ridge, TN, improved two-strokes for a career low 74, finishing tied for 10th individually. She led the field in par three scoring, shooting three-under par. Freshman June Bolme finished with a two day total of 155 in her first career tournament while Sandi MacDougall improved six-strokes to shoot a final round 77. Julie Cline improved two-strokes to finish with a two day total of 160, respectively.
FAU (614) recorded the second lowest total for the day and third lowest for the tournament, jumping two spots from the first day. Campbell University (598) took first place with host Georgia State (603) falling to second. UAB (606), Yale (609) and Middle Tennessee State (610) round out the top five. The Lady Owls finished third out of the four Atlantic Sun schools participating, finishing ahead of UCF (622).
