LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL - After the first day of the 35th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational, the Florida Atlantic women's golf team is in 13th place.

Sophomore Nicole Marino leads the way for the Owls after her first-round 80 on the par-72 Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club. She is tied for 40th overall.

One stroke behind her is Emily Peters, at 81, followed by another newcomer, Christina Langer, who shot an 85. Marilyne Cadieux came in at 87, and Madden Leen with a 90.

The Owls shot a 333, placing them just six strokes behind Drake. FIU leads their own tournament with a first-day total of 296, 8-over par, and one stroke ahead of Cincinnati. UC has the top individual, Olivia Dose, with a 3-under par total of 69. FIU's Sophie Godley is second at 71, the only other golfer under par.

Round two of the three-round, three-day event takes place on Monday.
