Women's Golf Wraps Up Play at Courtyard Classic

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Florida Atlantic women's golfers finished ninth at the Courtyard Classic, with freshman Emily Peters having the low final round in her debut tournament.

Peters' 79 led the squad Tuesday, and she finished tied for 50th with a three-round total of 251. Anna Wiklund shot a final-day 82 to finish at 235, tying her for 24th. Nicole Marino shot an 81 Tuesday, and finished 40th with a 244.

Kayla DeSuza (83 Tuesday, 254 total) and Madden Leen (97 Tuesday, 267 total) also competed for the Owls in the final round at the Hidden Hills Country Club.

The team finished with a 978, one stroke behind South Dakota State for eighth. Troy won the tournament by 12 strokes over Daytona State. Georgia Price of FGCU was medalist, defeating Troy's Taylor McGraw in a playoff. They had both shot a 3-over-par 219 through 54 holes.

Sunday marks the beginning of the Owls' next tournament, the three-day FIU Pat Bradley Invitational, at Lakewood Ranches in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
