Anna Wiklund shoots a 77 to lead the Owls in opening day of Xavier Invitational

The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team stands in 12th place after the opening day of the 54-hole Xavier Invitational on Friday in Daytona Beach, Fla.

FAU recorded a 316 team score on the par 72 6,087-yard layout. Daytona State College leads the 15-team field with a 295 composite score. Campbell University trails by three strokes and Augusta State University is in third place.

Anna Wiklund paced the team's score shooting a five-over-par 77 that featured an even par back nine. She stands in 28th place overall.

Elisabetta Bertini carded a 78 while Gina Larsen and Brooke McBoyle and Jennifer Norton rounded the Owls' score.

FAU will return to the links on Saturday in the middle day of the three-day event.
