Women's Golf Bitten By Blue Monster

Miami, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team are 15th out of 16 teams after shooting a team total of 338 in Friday's first round of the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational, held on the world-famous Blue Monster course at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa.

All five Owls failed to break 80 on the brutal Blue, with senior Jessica Carafiello carding an 80 to lead the way. Junior Kendall Kirby (83), sophomore Sandi McDougall (85), and freshman Anna-Claire Daniels (90) were the other golfers to shoot qualifying scores for the Owls. Senior Maria Gutierrez brought up the rear with a 90.

Princeton leads the three-round event thanks to four scores in the 70's, including a tournament-low 71 by Avery Kiser.
