BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University's women's golf team finished the second and final round of Florida Gulf Coast University's 2013 Eagle Invitational in sixth place with a team total of 640.
Jacqueline Shelly finished the tournament as FAU's low scorer. She shot 78 in the first round for 16th-place but after shooting 78 again in the second round the sophomore finished tied for 14th. Shelly shot even-par on 24 out of 36 holes.
Amanda Ploener, who tied for 21st carding 79 after the first round, finished the tournament tied for 20th with a 14-over 158. Christina Langer tied with Ploener in the first round, but shot a second round of 85, tying for 35th. Langer shot even-par on 21 holes over the two rounds.
Returners Kayla DeSuza and Nicole Marino rounded out FAU's team, finishing with tournament totals of 164 and 172, respectively. DeSuza tied for 35th with teammate Langer and shot even-par on 20 holes. Marino held onto 43rd-place remaining where she finished after the first round on Sunday.
Women's golf will compete in Daytona Beach at LPGA International for the two-day Lady Falcon Invitational starting on Saturday, Sept. 21.
