Women's Golf Slips in Second Round of C-USA Tournament

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women’s golf team slipped one spot in the standings to sit in 11th after the second round of the Conference USA Tournament at the Verandah Club on Tuesday despite three Owls improving on their first-round scores.

Daniella Castaneda matched her first-round score of 76 to take the top spot for the Owls and is currently tied for 25th overall
• Meghan Bennett improved four strokes after Monday’s total, shooting a 3-over 75 for FAU’s best round of the day. Bennett birdied on a pair of par threes
Kadi Pallastrone, FAU’s first-round leader, struggled with a 10-over 82 to fall to 39th overall
Jennifer Keim picked up two strokes in her five-over 77 to climb to 42nd
Tai Barber improved by five strokes and sits in 53rd with a 7-over 79 on Tuesday
• The Owls shot 307 each day for a 614, but are just two strokes out of ninth and are 15 strokes from the top five
• Middle Tennessee leads the pack with a 583 team total

Up Next FAU will tee off on the 10th hole at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the final round of the Conference USA Championship
