Miami, FL - Despite a strong first day, the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team found itself in eighth place after the second round completed Saturday at the Ryder Florida Collegiate Championship. After shooting 313 as a team in the opening round, the Owls shot a 326 for a two-round total of 639.
Senior Jessica Carafiello gave FAU something to cheer about with her second-round 76, the second lowest round among FAU golfers this tournament. The round moved her up into a tie for 22nd.
Freshman Anna-Claire Daniels shot the second lowest round of the day for FAU with a 78. She is now tied for 36th. Fellow freshman June Bolme had a disappointing round (86), but still ranks second on the team and is tied for 32nd overall with her two-round total of 160.
The final round of the three-round event will be played on Sunday.
