LAKE MARY, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team took a third-place finish after round one of the Magnolia Spring Break Classic. Marilyne Cadieux carded the highest scoring round for Florida Atlantic, finishing in fourth. The two day tournament is being co-hosted by Seminole State College and the University of Detroit Mercy.
Cadieux earned four birdies during the first round, the most earned by any participant, shooting a 4-over 76. The senior golfer is in first-place, scoring even on par 4's. Florida Atlantic's Emily Peters tied for seventh with a score of 8-over 80, and Kayla DeSuza rounded out the top-20 players list with 13-over 85, tying for 17th.
The Owls shot a total 329 in the first round to finish in third. Co-host Detroit Mercy took the lead in both team finish and individual finish. The second and final round of the Magnolia Spring Break Classic will take place on Tuesday.
