Lakeland, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's golf team charged up the standings again finishing tied for third at the Lady Moc Classic for the team's second consecutive top-three finish. Natalia Navarro finished her sixth consecutive tournament in the top-six while Amanda Pettit recorded her first top-five finish as a Lady Owl.
Navarro fired a final round 73 on the 5,997-yard, par-72 course to finish third individually, improving by two strokes from yesterday. This is the sixth consecutive tournament she has finished in the top six and fifth consecutive tournament she finished in the top four. Pettit, meanwhile, recorded her highest finish this year, finishing tied for fifth individually with a three-round score of 230. Jessica Carafiello and Heidi von Korff finished with three-day scores of 244 and 246, respectively, while Kendall Kirby finished with a score of 254 in her first tournament of the year.
FAU tied for third with host Florida Southern College while Rollins College (911) ran away with the title, shooting 30-strokes better than second place Florida International University (941). Middle Tennessee State (948) rounds out the top- five. The Lady Owls finished 43-strokes better than fellow Atlantic Sun Conference member Stetson University.
Florida Atlantic returns to action Monday, March 15 at the El Diablo Invitational in Citrus Springs, FL.
