LAKE MARY, Fla.-
Florida Atlantic University’s women’s golf team completed their final round of the 12th Annual Start 2 Finish hosted by Webber International. The junior Heather Netti led the Owls finishing in third overall.
Netti carded rounds of 71 on the first day of play and shot a two-over 74 on day two. The sophomore Kadi Pallastrone carded a 149 after 36 holes of play, shooting a three-over 75 on day two of the tournament for a sixth place finish.
Daniella Castaneda was the third Owl to finish in the top-10. Castaneda tied for 10th overall with rounds of 77, and 78 for a total of 155. Following Castaneda was individual competitor Emily Faulkner in 12th place. Faulkner carded rounds of 76 and 80, for a total of 156.
Senior Christina Langer finished the tournament tied for 16th place, after shooting an 11-over 83 today two of the tournament for a total of 159. Rounding out the group was Tai Barber, after carding a nine-over 81 on day one the sophomore improved to an eight-over 80 finishing tied for 23rd.
"We had several milestones this week. We carded our lowest team score the first day (298) since I have been coaching at FAU! Heather also carded her all time career lowest 18 hole and 36 hole total!” Said Head Coach Kathy Baker-Guadagnino, “I was really proud of the girls holding up under the pressure of being in contention today and know that this is only a preview of things to come."
The Owls finished the tournament in second place with a team total of 605 after 36-holes. The women’s golf team will play next at the Seminole Spring Break Tournament in a two-day tournament starting on Thursday, March 8th.
