ORMOND BEACH, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's golf team competed for their first spring tournament at Halifax Plantation Golf Club in Bethune Cookman University's Gary Freeman Invitational. The Owls finished second against six other teams in a one-round tournament.

Seniors Marilyne Cadieux and Anna Wiklund were FAU's top finishers at the invitational, tying for second-place. The pair's outstanding performances, scoring 6-over 78, proved they will both be strong competitors this year. Christina Langer tied for eighth with 10-over 82. Nicole Marino and Emily Peters also competed at the invitational, tying for 20th overall with 15-over-87. The Owls had each of their participants place on the top-20 players list.

Florida Atlantic will compete at the Magnolia Spring Break Classic in Lake Mary, Florida on March 5-6. The team will then travel to Orlando for the 2013 Sunshine Spring Classic on March 10-11.
