Women's Golf Concludes Amelia Island Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Florida Atlantic University’s women’s golf team completed their final round of the spring season opener today at the Amelia Island Collegiate hosted by Jacksonville University. Jacqueline Shelly led the Owls tying for 54th-place.

Shelly carded rounds of 75 and 78 on the first day of play. She shot 85 in the final round for a tournament total of 238 strokes. Kayla DeSuza improved her finish from day one, a 69th-place tie, with a final round of 76 for a 61st-place tie. DeSuza finished the tournament with a total of 241 strokes.

Christian Langer tied for 73rd overall with rounds of 83, 82 and 84 for a total of 249. Following Langer was Nicole Marino in 76th-place. Marino carded rounds of 82 and 87 on the first day of the tournament to tie for 75th before shooting a final round of 83. FAU’s final golfer, Heather Netti, finished in 78th-place with rounds of 91, 85 and 81.

The Owls finished the tournament 14th with a team total of 974. Conference USA opponent FIU claimed first-place with a three-round total of 859. The women’s golf team will play next at the University of Detroit Mercy in a two-day tournament starting on Thursday, March 6.
