JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Florida Atlantic University's women's golf team completed their first two rounds of the spring season on Monday at the Amelia Island Collegiate hosted by Jacksonville University. The 54-hole tournament has brought together teams from across the country to the par 72, 6,029 yard Amelia National Golf and Country Club.
Jacqueline Shelly carded rounds of 75 and 78 on the first day of play for a total of 153 going into the final round tied for 37th. Shelly, a sophomore transfer from Mercer University, was FAU's leading scorer in every fall tournament she competed in. Following Shelly was Christina Langer and Kayla DeSuza tying for 69th-place. Langer and DeSuza both recorded rounds of 83 and 82 for a total of 165 strokes.
Nicole Marino shot rounds of 82 and 87 to tie for 75th-place. Heather Netti rounded out the Owls' team tying for 77th with rounds of 91 and 85. FAU finished day one of the tournament in 14th-place with a two-round total of 650. The final round of the Amelia Island Collegiate will take place on Tuesday.
