Orlando, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's golf team shot a final round of 309 to finish sixth out of 12 teams at the UCF Invitational on the 5,891-yard, par 72 course at Stoneybrook Country Club. Natalia Navarro tied for the lowest round of the day en route to a third place finish, her fourth straight top-six finish.
Navarro, the Atlantic Sun Women's Golfer-of-the-Month for November, shot a tournament low 70, improving seven strokes from the previous day. Navarro has finished in the top-three in each of her last three tournaments. Heidi von Korff shot a second-round 80, finishing a season best 26th place. Amanda Pettit and Jessica Carafiello improved four and two shots, respectively, to finish with two-round scores of 162, while Maria Gutierrez finished with a 175.
Florida Atlantic finished 22-strokes behind champion Georgia State University (607) after posting the fourth-best score of the second round. Jacksonville University (610), Florida Southern (619), Augusta State University (621), and Rollins College (624) round out the top five. The Lady Owls finished third among the A-Sun schools participating, ahead of Troy State University (649), host UCF (649) and Stetson University (679).
