BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team will travel to Atlanta, Georgia to take on Georgia State on Friday at 7 p.m. at the GSU Sports Arena. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 and can be heard online.
FAU (3-4) and Georgia State (3-5) will square off for the 27th time in program history on Friday. The Panthers own a 17-9 record against the Owls. The two former Atlantic Sun foes met last in 2005 and Georgia State won that matchup.
For FAU, this will be the first of two road games before ending the year and nonconference play with the FAU Holiday Classic.
LAST TIME OUT
The Owls had back-to-back double overtime games in their last outings before taking nearly a two week break for finals. In the first game, FAU fell short against Grand Canyon but the Owls bounced back to claim a win against North Florida.
SCOUTING GEORGIA STATE
The Panthers will be coming off a come-from-behind win against North Greenville last Sunday. GSU is led in scoring by Shay Fluker, who is averaging 17.8 points per game this season.
CRASHING THE BOARDS
The Owls have shown improvement on the boards this season. They are currently averaging 45.1 rebounds per game, which is the most in Conference USA and ranks 20th in the country. That mark is also the highest by a FAU team in recent statistical history dating back to 2000.
