BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team will host Florida Memorial on Saturday, Nov. 16 for the Owls' home opener. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Burrow.
The Owls (0-2) are coming off of a close road loss at Ohio State which saw FAU erase a 23-point, first-half lead by the Buckeyes. FAU pulled within one in the final moments, but OSU held on for the 91-88 victory in Columbus.
FAU is being led by guard Takia Brooks who is averaging 19 points per game. The senior posted 25 points, five assists and five rebounds against Ohio State. The Owls are scoring an average of 78.5 points per contest and scored 101 points against Lynn in their exhibition game.
FMU (0-2) plays host to Barry University on Friday before coming to Boca Raton for Saturday's contest. The Lions have fallen to Davenport and Edward Waters by margins of 26 and seven points, respectively.
Following Saturday's game, the Owl will hit the road to take on Western Illinois on Nov. 20 and Cleveland State on Nov. 23 before returning home to host the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament.
