Junior forward Chenise Miller leads six returnees for the 2012-13 season |

Boca Raton, FL - Fans will get their first glimpse of the new-look Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team during an exhibition game against Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, November 3, at 2 p.m. from the FAU Arena, 777 Glades Road on the Boca Raton campus.
The game will get the Owls ready to tip off the regular season at Georgia Southern University on Friday, November 9, at 8:30 p.m.
FAU is led by first-year Head Coach Kellie Lewis-Jay. The team has been practicing for the past four weeks.
Junior post player Chenise Miller leads six players returning from last season’s team that won 17 games, placed second in the Sun Belt Conference’s East Division and played in the Women's National Invitational Tournament. Miller led the Owls a year ago in scoring (10.6 ppg), rebounding (7.4 rpg) and blocked shots (24). She earned preseason second-team All-SBC honors by other league coaches and media.
Senior guard Breana Turner returns to the lineup after missing last season with an injury. She averaged nine points a game during the 2010-11 campaign, when she scored a season-high 21 points on two occasions.
FAU also returns junior guards Takia Brooks, Latavia Dempsey and Kimberly Smith along with senior forward Kelsey Proctor.
Newcomers include center Jasmine Queen and guards Briah Blakely, Brianna Marsh, Morgan Robinson, Shanequa Schrouder and Ashley Stevenson.
