Florida Atlantic University Women's Basketball Head Coach Chancellor Dugan announced the hiring of Yolanda Cole as an assistant coach.
Cole joins FAU from Central Connecticut State where she was the assistant coach for the past two seasons. With Cole's help in practice planning and scouting reports, the Blue Devils won the 2005-06 Great Alaska Shootout, and produced two first team and two rookie team All-Northeast Conference players.
Prior to her time in Connecticut, the Battle Creek, Michigan native worked as an assistant women's basketball coach at Kellogg Community College in her hometown during the 2004-05 season. During that year, KCC went to its first ever NJCAA national tournament and the team finished 30-5, the best overall record in school history.
Cole received her degree from the University of Michigan, where she also spent five seasons as the head manager of the women's basketball team. While at Michigan, Cole worked as an instructor for the women's basketball summer camps, and in 2003, she was the assistant camp director.
