Brittany Bowe finished the Pan American Games by winning three events in the sprint inline-roller skating events in Rio De Janiero earlier this week. Bowe splits her time during the year between skating and playing basketball at Florida Atlantic University.

The Summerfield, FL native earned a gold medal at the Pan Am Games after picking up 36 points by winning the 300m time trial, 1000m combined and 500m time trial.

"This is unlike any experience I've had," said Bowe. "This is a one of a kind championship and I've had such a great experience here. This is the closest we get to an Olympics, so its' a great honor for me to win a gold medal for the U.S.A."

Former FAU softball player Jenna Lopez is also participating in the Pan Am Games. She is playing for the Puerto Rican National Team. The squad has dropped two games to start the games and will play Argentina on Thursday to close out pool play. Lopez was a key member of FAU's 2007 regular and postseason Sun Belt Champion softball team.
