Florida Atlantic University Athletics’ student-athletes and staff joined more than 5,000 South Florida youth at the Palm Beach County Convention Center for two days of fitness and fun at the annual Kids Fitness Festival of the Palm Beaches on July 19-20.
Owls from the women’s basketball and women’s cross country/track & field teams spent their time interacting with children ages 5-12 at the FAU Athletics’ area. Activities included basketball, coloring, cornhole and more.
“We had such a great time playing with all the kids,” said redshirt junior guard Danneal Ford. “Our team really enjoys interacting with the younger generation.”
All proceeds from the Kids Fitness Festival benefit the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, a non-profit organization that provides local youth the opportunity to learn sportsmanship, teamwork and citizenship through sport. This year’s presenting sponsor was the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida.
