Myers signs with FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University women's basketball coach Kellie Lewis-Jay announced the signing of Melinda Myers from Highland High School in Gilbert, Ariz.

Myers joins a signing class which includes Rolanda Hayes of Rockledge, Fla., Danneal Ford of Miami, Fla., Lauren Williams of Roosevelt, N.Y., Sasha Cedeno of Spring, Texas, and Malia Kency of Grovetown, Ga. The Owls' have the No. 2 recruiting class in Conference USA, per Dan Olson's Collegiate Girls Basketball Report.

The 6-foot, 2-inch post player scored more than 800 points in her two varsity years and shot an impressive 66 percent or better from the field in each of her last two seasons.

She was named first team All-District, first team All-Sectional and second team All-State, leading Highland to a 22-9 record this season. Myers averaged a double-double on the year with 17.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game under coach Miner Webster.
