Junior guard Briah Blakely returns to nearby Dallas for Wednesday's game at North Texas
Boca Raton, FL - The long road schedule for the Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team ends on Wednesday, February 20 with a game at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
Along the way, the Owls have had fun in the snow in Wisconsin, visited a historic plantation in New Orleans and basked in the sunshine in South Florida. The team has won four of 14 road games this season, including a 72-57 loss at the University of Louisiana on Saturday, February 16 in Lafayette, La.
Overall, FAU has an 11-14 record and an 8-9 mark in Sun Belt Conference (SBC) action. Florida Atlantic goes for the season sweep with North Texas, having defeated the Mean Green 79-67 on January 19 in Boca Raton. Junior forward Chenise Miller had 22 points and senior guard Breana Turner added 17 points in the first meeting.
Miller leads the Owls with 13.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game on the season. She leads the SBC with 46 blocks. Miller scored 18 points at Louisiana on Saturday.
Turner is averaging 12.4 points a game, while junior guard Takia Brooks rounds out the team’s double-figure scorers at 11 points per contest.
FAU ranks third in the conference by scoring 69.2 points per game.
