Women's Basketball Faces Charlotte, Southern Miss in C-USA Play

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team will travel to face Charlotte on Wednesday, Feb. 19 before returning home to host Southern Miss on Saturday, Feb. 22 in a split week of Conference USA action.

The Owls (13-11, 3-8 C-USA) are coming off of two home losses to Tulane and Middle Tennessee State. FAU has made 204 3-pointers on the season, needing just 29 more to tie the Conference USA single-season record. Senior Kimberly Smith has set records for 3-pointers in a game (9 at Tulsa) and 3-pointers in a season (71)..

FAU is 0-1 all-time against Charlotte (11-12, 5-5 C-USA), but the two teams have not met since 1988. The 49ers have four players averaging double-digit scoring, led by Gabby Tyler's 12.3 points and 7.7 rebounds. Tipoff at Charlotte is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Owls will face Southern Miss (19-5, 8-3 C-USA) for the first time in program history on Saturday. The Golden Eagles own a six-game winning streak and will face FIU before coming to Boca Raton. Jamierra Faulkner leads Southern Miss with 16.2 pointer per game and 207 assists on the season. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. at FAU arena.
