Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team begins its final road trip looking to build positive momentum for postseason play with a Sun Belt Conference (SBC) game at the University of Louisiana on Saturday, February 16 at 6 p.m. in Lafayette, La.
With an 8-8 conference record, the Owls seek to remain above the .500 mark in league action. The team is coming off a 64-61 loss to Western Kentucky University on Wednesday, February 13. Overall, the team stands 11-13 on the season.

Women's Basketball Matches Best Conference Start with Home Win Over Louisiana
The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball set season highs in four categories in a 79-44 home victory over the University of Louisiana on Wednesday night at the FAU Arena.

FAU goes for the season sweep of the Ragin’ Cajuns after picking up a 79-44 win on January 2 in Boca Raton. The team set a school record with 13 blocked shots and made a season-best 11 three-point field goals. Junior guard Latavia Dempsey led four double-figure scorers with 19 points, including making all five of her three-point shots. Junior forward Chenise Miller scored 16 points, and junior guard Kimberly Smith and Takia Brooks added 11 points each.
The Owls won their last road game, picking up a 59-56 victory at the University of South Alabama on February 9.
For the season, Florida Atlantic ranks third in the SBC by averaging 69.7 points per game. The team leads the league with a +5.7 turnover margin and 11.6 steals per contest.
Individually, Miller leads three double-digit scorers (13 ppg), slightly ahead of guard Breana Turner (12.3 ppg) and Brooks (11 ppg).
