Chancerel went undefeated in singles play to lead the Owls to a tournament victory at Army's East Coast Challenge. He clinched the winning doubles and singles points against Santa Clara, beating SC's Robert Seby, 7-5, 6-1 and Yale's Ziqi Wang, 6-3, 7-5. Chancerel went 2-1 in doubles play with Gabriel Sidney, earning a 7-5 win over Santa Clara and a 6-2 win against Army.
Cedeño had a career night against Louisiana Tech on Saturday in the Burrow. The senior poured in 30 points against the Lady Techsters, a new career high and the most points scored by a FAU player in nearly two years. Cedeño recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 11 points in the contest as well. She also eclipsed the 900 career points mark on Saturday and now has 914 in her four seasons. She is just 25 points shy of breaking into the top 10 in career scoring in the FAU record book.
Men's tennis will have a few weeks off before getting going again on Feb. 8 against Georgia in Orlando. On Feb. 10 the team will host FGCU in Boca Raton for its first home match of 2018.
Women's basketball will go on the road for the next two weeks. The Owls will go to UTSA on Thursday and UAB on Saturday before traveling to WKU the following Saturday. FAU will return home on Feb. 8 when they host Middle Tennessee and North Texas on Feb. 10.
