Boca Raton, FL - This week Florida Atlantic University women's basketball will be headed out west to take on two Sun Belt opponents. They'll square off with Denver on Thursday, before heading out to Denton to take on North Texas on Saturday.

"We are planning on fine-tuning some of our mistakes from this past week in practice," said Head Coach Chancellor Dugan. "How we play on this next road stand will be telling on how the rest of our season shapes out."

On Sunday the Owls lost at home to fellow Sun Belt rookie Louisiana- Monroe, 76-72. FAU out rebounded their opponents by 18, but only shot 56.4 percent from the free-throw line. Trailing by 10 with under one minute to play, the Owls were able to get the score within three before LaJeanna Howard iced the game with a free-throw with less than two ticks on the clock.

Mistoria Brown recorded her fourth double-double of the season on Sunday. The senior had 22 points and a season-high 14 rebounds. Her 17.1 points-per-game and 8.9 rebounds-a-contest in conference are good for fifth and sixth best in the Sun Belt.

Demina Anderson has steadily been improving over the last several games for the Owls. In her last four contests she has averaged 12.8 points and 8.0 rebounds. Over that span the senior has connected on 48.7 percent of her shots from the field. Her presence has given FAU a legitimate post threat.

Denver (9-6, 4-2 SBC) is taking on Arkansas State on the road Monday before returning to face FAU on Thursday. The Pioneers have a pair of players scoring in double-figures. Guard Tyesha Lowery adds a team-high 12.5 points-per-game, while forward Sara Benham contributes 11.5 points-per-contest and a team-high 5.5 rebounds-a-game. Entering Monday Denver has won three games in-a-row and four of their last five.

North Texas (4-11, 1-4 SBC) heads to Miami Thursday to do battle with FIU before coming back to Denton to play FAU on Saturday. The Mean Green has struggled as of late, losing its last four games. Guard Santera Jackson is their leading scorer with 12.4 points-per-game. Center Santera Jackson paces them on the post with 7.1 points-per-game and 7.7 rebounds-a-contest.

Thursday's game with Denver will tip at 7 p.m. eastern from Magness Arena, while their match-up with North Texas will begin at 6 p.m. eastern on Saturday at the Super Pit in Denton, TX. This will be the first time Florida Atlantic takes on either opponent. All games this season are broadcast for free on
