Jan. 1, 2014

BOCA RATON, Fla.- Off to its best start in more than 20 years, the Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team looks to set another milestone as the Owls host Bethune Cookman on Jan. 2 at 7 p.m.

FAU (9-3) has won a school-record nine non-conference games and could extend that mark with a victory over the Lady Wildcats (3-10) in its last regular-season non-conference game of the season.

The Owls own a 17-5 advantage over BCU in the series history, but the Wildcats won last year's battle 71-61 in Daytona Beach, Fla.

FAU has won nine of its last ten games and is undefeated at home. The Owls have won each of their four home games by an average of 32.5 points/game. BCU is looking for its first road victory of the year.

The Owls open Conference USA play at East Carolina on Jan. 8 in Greenville, N.C. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
