The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team had a tough time on offense and a tough time guarding Robert Morris' Sade Logan. She scored a game-high 31 points in a 70-59 loss for FAU to the Colonials.
Robert Morris took control of things from the start, as they went on a 16-2 run midway through the first half and after a three by Kendra Williams, the Colonials took a 22-8 lead. FAU would trim the lead towards the end of the half, and after a steal and lay-up by Jana Momoh, the Owls only trailed 33-29 at the break.
The Owls would cut the lead to two in the second half after a Jaimie Givens lay-up, but they would get no closer, as Robert Morris went on an 11-4 run to extend the lead to 44-35, and they never looked back.
"We were just out of sync today," said Head Coach Chancellor Dugan. "Offensively we were on about five different pages and we just couldn't get anything going."
Carla Stubbs led the Owls with 15 points on three of six shooting from beyond the arc. Momoh made the most of her first start of the year, she scored 11 points and Shuteamia Brayboy added nine assists. However, the Owls struggled on the glass, as Robert Morris outrebounded the Owls 46-37; the Colonials grabbed 17 of their rebounds on the offensive side of the ball.
FAU's next game is on Sunday when the Owls face Samford at 3 p.m. at FAU Arena. The Bulldogs defeated Missouri in the first game of the FAU Thanksgiving Classic 65-49 earlier Saturday afternoon.
