Even though it was the National Women's Basketball League (NWBL) team that wanted to run the floor, it was Florida Atlantic University who scored over 100 points in an exhibition game in Boca Raton, FL. Kristy Halvorsen led the Lady Owls with a double-double, 21 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks in the 107-59 win.
FAU would only trail once in the game as Kim Land and Gale Peterson scored the first four points for the NWBL team. The Lady Owls then came alive and scored the next 12 points.
Turnovers and personal fouls hurt the NWBL as they accumulated 28 turnovers and 27 personal fouls in the game. The NWBL tried to run the floor on the Lady Owls as they were not able to get back on defense but the NWBL was not able to convert and in turn led to turnovers.
All of the Lady Owls saw playing time and five players scored in double figures.
The Lady Owls travel to the Rainbow Wahine Classic inHonolulu, Hawaii where they will play Penn State on Friday.
