Boca Raton, FL - Placing six players in double figures, the Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team earned a 100-61 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic University on Saturday in an exhibition game at the FAU Arena to tune up for the 2012-13 season.

The Owls made 13 three-point field goals and shot 42 percent from the floor in the victory.

FAU begins the regular season at Georgia Southern University on Friday, November 9, at 8:30 p.m.

"We did some good things, but there are still plenty of areas that need work before the season starts," said Kellie Lewis-Jay, FAU's head women's basketball coach. "We set the tempo of the game early with the intensity of our defensive effort."

Senior guard Breana Turner paced the Owls' balanced offensive attack with 13 points, including making 7-for-8 at the free throw line. Joining her by scoring 13 points in the contest were junior guards Takia Brooks and Ashley Stevenson, along with freshman guard Morgan Robinson.

Junior guard Kimberly Smith and junior forward Shanequa Schrouder each added 11 points. All 11 of Florida Atlantic's players scored in the contest.
