Hot Springs, AR - The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team ended the 2012-13 season with a 70-63 loss to the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament on Friday, March 8.

The Owls conclude the season with a 12-17 record.

Senior guard Breana Turner scored a game-high 25 points and moved into 10th place in the program's record book for career points. The New Orleans native made 10 field goals, including two 3-point field goals.

Junior guard Takia Brooks had 12 points. Junior guard Briah Blakely and junior forward Chenise Miller each added nine points in the loss.

ULM, the No. 9 seed, advances to the quarterfinals behind four double-figure scorers and making 22-of-29 free throw attempts. Ashleigh Simmons had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Alexar Tugler added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Elexar Tugler (12) and Jasmine Shaw (11) rounded out the balanced scoring attack.

ULM, now winner of three straight games, advances to play the tournament's top seed Middle Tennessee State University on Saturday, March 9.

The Owls trailed 28-23 at the half, but never got the deficit closer than the five points in the second half. Turner scored 20 of her 26 points after the halftime break.

The game closes the collegiate careers of seniors Kelsey Proctor and Turner.
