Gorrell named to second team
RS-Junior (2014-15): Ranked second on the squad with 13.9 points per game and 33 steals and led the Owls with 6.5 rebounds per contest and 68 assists...started each of the 28 games in which she played, averaging a team-best 29 minutes...shot .450 from the field...scored career-high 30 points at Colorado State on Nov. 21 and tallied career-high 12 rebounds against FIU on Jan. 24...led FAU with five double-doubles, including back-to-back games at Long Beach State in December...Named CoSIDA Academic All-District and C-USA All-Academic and won the C-USA Spirit of Service Award.
Junior (2013-14): Sat out the 2013-14 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Sophomore (2012-13 at Wyoming): Saw action in all 32 games during the season with 32 starts...averaged 3.8 points and 3.5 rebounds...recorded a team high 117 assists (3.7 aspg)...shot 45-104 (.433) from the field and 30-46 (.652) from the charity stripe...ranked first in assist to turnover ratio and sixth in assists in both overall and Mountain West games...recorded 10 points and a career high eight assists against Boise State (2/9/13)...brought down a career eight rebounds against UNLV (1/23/13)...had six assists against Ball State (12/18/12)...recorded ten points and two rebounds in the second game...led the team in assists 15 times.
Freshman (2011-12 at Wyoming):Saw action in all 29 games with eight starts in her freshman campaign...started in the first game of her career against Maryville (12/10/11)...averaged 4.1 points and 2.1 rebounds in 19.1 minutes...also added 1.8 assists, while shooting 35-93 (.376) from the field...in her second career start, she recorded seven points and a season-high seven assists against Air Force (2/15/12)...led the team in scoring twice, steals 14 times and assists six times...earned Academic All-Mountain West honors for the first time in her career.
High School:A four-time First Team All-Conference selection while attending Conifer High School...in 2011, she was selected Class 4A All-State by the Denver Post and selected for the second straight year for "The Show" Colorado All-Star Game...helped her team to a 21-4 overall record as they would advance to the Great 8 in the Colorado State Championship falling to eventual champion Broomfield...was named the Max Preps 4A Player of the Year and the Denver Post 4A Ms. Basketball Player of the Year in 2010, while being selected to participate in "The Show" Colorado All-Star Game...during that same year, she also led her team to a 25-2 overall record and a Final Four finish in the Colorado State playoffs...the previous season, her team went 24-2 overall record and an undefeated record in the 4A Jeffco Conference, while finishing in the top eight in the state...a four-time letterwinner in basketball, she was a team captain since her sophomore year...was coached by her father, Mick...also participated in tennis were she was a First Team All-Conference selection as a freshman and sophomore...an excellent student, she was a member of the National Honor Society and selected Academic All-State.
