Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Wraps Regular Season Friday
Oct. 12, 2017

BOCA RATON, Fla. The Florida Atlantic University men’s and women’s cross country squads toe the start line for the final time this regular season at Friday evening’s USF Invitational in Tampa.

The women will run first, in a 5K at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s 8K starting at 5:45. The meet will be held just across the street from the USF campus, at The Claw.

“The USF meet gives us one last chance to race before the C-USA Championships,” said Head Coach Alex Smolka. “We typically use this meet to work on different aspects of the race. Both men's and women's squads will work on certain particular race tactics which might come into play in two weeks’ time.”

Other schools competing Friday in addition to the Owls and the host school are: Bethune-Cookman, FIU, Florida College, FGCU, Jacksonville, Keiser, Miami, Pasco-Hernandez State, Rollins, Saint Leo, USF, St. Thomas, Stetson, Tampa and Texas Lutheran. Results will be made available at
