FAU Men's Tennis 2014 Recruiting Class Ranked No. 7 Among Mid-Majors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men’s tennis 2014 recruiting class is the No. 7 ranked class in the country among mid-major colleges according to Tennis Recruiting Network. Florida Atlantic will have five new recruits next season and was ranked No. 32 overall. FAU was the only team competing in C-USA next season to be ranked in the top 35 overall and was the highest of three C-USA teams in the mid-major category.

FAU men’s tennis head coach Ricardo Gonzalez is excited to work with the talent of the incoming class.

"We have a great group of guys coming in next year. I am looking forward to developing these young men into better athletes, and most importantly into better human beings,” said Gonzalez.

“I am looking forward to the future of FAU tennis. I believe we are taking steps in the right direction."

The 2014 recruiting class, Gonzalez’s first as head coach of the program, features a five star recruit in Zandrix Acob of Boca Raton, and two four star recruits in Alexander Gitin of Boca Raton and Kian McLean of Maryland.  The 2014 class also features two international recruits that have played competition from both overseas and in the United States. Ignacio Jimenez joins the owls from Spain and Anthony Schohn joins the Owls from France.
