BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic men's tennis duo of Remi Chancerel and Gabriel Sidney have broken into the ITA rankings, sitting at No. 49 in the nation in doubles play.
"Its pretty neat to see our No. 1 doubles team escalate in the rankings," FAU Head Coach Ricardo Gonzalez said. "Being ranked top 50 is a big accomplishment for them personally and for this program as a whole. Both Remi and Gabe are tremendous doubles players and they complement each other in different ways. I am confident they will continue improve their games and escalate in the rankings."
The pair boast a record of 6-2 at No. 1 double this season, including a 6-3 win at No. 4 Georgia over eighth-ranked Jan Zielinski and Robert Loeb. Chancerel/Sidney have won three doubles matches in a row and will lead the Owls in a six-match homestand starting Sunday, Feb. 25 at noon at the FAU Tennis Complex.
