Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team will begin the 2013 season by hosting nationally and regionally ranked teams in an invitational tournament on Friday, January 4 through Sunday, January 6 at Patch Reef Park, 1200 Yamato Road in Boca Raton.

Joining the Owls in the event will be No. 22-ranked Indiana University of the Big Ten Conference, No. 34-ranked University of Louisville of Big East Conference and Radford University of the Big South Conference.

"This is the first time the FAU men's tennis program has hosted a collegiate event," said Brandon Stokes, FAU's head men's tennis coach. "We are thrilled to welcome three outstanding tennis programs led by successful and respected coaches in our college tennis community. The main focus of the tournament for every team is to build team chemistry, bond on and off the court, be healthy, and compete in as many matches possible."

FAU is led by sophomore Will Neuner, who had an 8-6 record in five fall tournaments and won the consolation singles bracket at the Dick Vitale Clay Court Invitational. Senior Jose Fantova ranks second on the team with four singles victories, and teamed with Neuner in the fall to win two of the three doubles matches.

"It is an honor that the Boca Raton Parks and Recreation Department at Patch Reef Park has been so helpful to host our tournament," said Stokes. "It is a first class facility and their assistance has been unwavering."

Matches in the invitational begin each day at 8 a.m.
