Men's Tennis Competes at ITA Regionals

ATLANTA, Ga. – Remi Chancerel and Thomas Guy made a doubles run to the semifinals as the Florida Atlantic University men’s tennis team competed at the ITA Regional Championships at Georgia Tech.

Remi Chancerel fell 7-5, 6-0 in his opening match to No. 9 Chase Perez-Blanco before bouncing back to beat Lasse Muschelles 6-3, 6-3 in the consolation bracket
Ignacio Garcia opened the tournament with a 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 victory over Florida State’s Terrell Whitehurst before falling to the eventual champion Walker Duncan 6-4, 6-4 in the second round
Thomas Guy suffered a 5-7, 6-1, 6-0 defeat to Georgia’s Robert Loeb
• Chancerel and Guy paired up to make a run in the doubles bracket with wins of 8-3 vs. Georgia Southern, 8-4 over FGCU and 8-5 over the ranked duo from Georgia before being knocked off 8-6 in the quarterfinals
• Garcia and Gabriel Sidney won their opening doubles match 8-4 over USF before falling to the No. 1 duo from Georgia 8-4
