Jacksonville, FL - The men's tennis team at Florida Atlantic University competed for the second consecutive day at the Hastings Memorial/JU Invitational in Jacksonville, FL. Midway through the day heavy rain hit the area postponing the tournament for the remainder of the day. The rains held off just long enough for Mauricio Paiz and Jeremy Perez to defeat Bethune-Cookman's Fernando Marcato and Miloslav Medricky, 9-8, in doubles. The victory pushed Paiz and Perez into tomorrows "Flight B" doubles consolation final.
Perez also benefited from a default in the "Flight B" consolation quarterfinal. The default of FLAG's Daniel Guerriero gives Perez a free pass to the Semifinals.
Weather bearing, the tournament is set to conclude Sunday afternoon.
